Norman-St. Louis Wedding-Harvey Designs, event and floral design, Savannah, Georgia

Tucked away on Jekyll Island, a barrier island between Savannah and Jacksonville, Florida, the Jekyll Island Club Hotel is the epitome of elegance and grace. Amy’s delight at being able to design wedding day flowers and decor for such an exquisite locale far outweighed any concerns over the distance she would need to travel for the event.

Crane Cottage (one of the accommodations offered by the Jekyll Island Club Hotel), while of Italian influence, lends itself beautifully to a more traditional garden themed wedding.

The flowers for the ceremony are a monochromatic blend of garden roses, freesia, hydrangea and dendrobium orchids. Sweet details of the wedding can be seen in the beautiful antique brooch on the bride’s bouquet and the elegant wrapping of the groom’s boutonniere. The ring bearer’s pillow, a little moss thing adorned with blue ribbon and a white dendrobium orchid, is a lovely alternative to fabric.

The show piece of the ceremony is the gorgeous curly willow archway. Flanked by sprays of white roses, stems of orchids and orchid leis, the archway was the perfect way to denote the ceremony site.

The centerpieces for the reception were light airy arrangements of blue delphinium, white orchids and curly willow with hanging votives throughout the arrangements.

The attention to detail can again be seen in the cocktail table candles, dressed up with a ti leaf and orchid.
