Wednesdays with Amy–Fall Tablescape with “Chirp” China–Savannah Event Designer–Harvey Designs–Savannah, GA

Well, I guess it’s bad when I am already thinking about fall and it is only June!!  But, I absolutely love the Chirp China pattern from Lenox and thought that it would make an elegant fall table scape.

Banquet style tables would be nice with long garlands of oak leaves running down the center of the tables incorporating the recycled metal tea light trees from Viva Terra.  Small arrangements of burnt orange dahlias, fall gourds and broken pomegranates could be added to garland for texture and a splash of color.  I wanted to off set the robin’s egg blue of the china with the burnt orange accented in the drawings on the birds.  I found this “Fire” pintuck linen from Connie Duglin for the perfect foundation for our table (sample is actually more orange).

The small twiggy bird’s nests with robin’s egg blue Jordan almonds at each place setting could serve dual purpose as a favor and a place card.  Try speckling your eggs with brown food coloring and a toothbrush.  Place cards could be printed on leaf shaped tags or water colored bird cutouts, perched on the edge of the nest, that mimic the china pattern.

As always, thanks for reading and think cool thoughts.  Remember to follow us on twitter and friend us on facebook.
