Weekend Review: Retro Flair and Classic Elegance | Harvey Designs | Event and Floral Design | Savannah, GA

What a weekend.  We had two very different weddings, one classic and elegant, the other, modern with a retro twist.  We love when brides have a definite vision for their wedding day and finally seeing all the planning come together is by far my favorite moment.  After only seeing pieces of the design, I often have an “AH-HA”  moment when I see the all the different elements come together.  So here, for your viewing pleasure, are sneak peeks at our two weddings from the weekend.

Held at the lovely Savannah Station, Cori’s reception was classic elegance to a “T”.  We used calla lilies, white hydrangeas, cymbidium orchids, and water pearls for her reception centerpieces.   The table linens were a lovely shade of green that added a splash of color to the simple white and cream colors of the flowers.  Against the backdrop of the dark ceilings of the venue these flowers just popped right off the table.

Had to give you a closer look at this lovely bouquet. Simple white peonies, white stock, and lily of the valley with mixed greenery.

The bridesmaids carried blush peonies tied with blush ribbon while the groomsmen wore blush roses wrapped with apple green ribbon.

The Groom wore a simple boutonniere of lily of the valley with a simple ivory ribbon wrap.

We were very happy to be a part of Cori’s special day.  Her rehearsal dinner, at the Westin,  was a surprise wedding ceremony!  We were in on the secret and it was such fun guessing what the guests’ reactions would be.  The only people who knew were the bride and groom, the bride’s father, the maid of honor and the minister.  (Besides us wedding biz people) It went over very well and we wish them both the best of luck!

And now something a little different:

Liz took very graphic colors and put a retro twist on them.  The fun bright gerbera daises, cheerful white asters, white freesia with white hydrangeas kept things light and fun.  The bottoms of all her containers contained black river rock with amber LED lights submerged in water.  The over all effect was a modern style with a retro touch.

The reception was at the lovely Hilton Desoto on the 14th floor.  The views from there were simply wonderful and were a bit of a distraction while we were setting up.   The weather cleared just in time to have a lovely outdoor ceremony in Washington Square.   Best wishes to Liz and her husband.

We had a lot of fun creating these designs for our brides and we are so happy that everything worked out for their special days.  As always, thanks for stopping by and checking us out.  If you want to find us. . .
